Float-n-Wade

FLOAT -n- WADE
(F-n-W)

I can't do just one!
That's not true at all. I have no idea why I even said that.
I guess I could have just backspaced the entire line off and then you would
have never known that I said it, but homie just don't swing like dat.

I can just wade, but when it comes to floating I can't keep my butt in the yak for very long. I can't be just a kayak fisherman and I don't want to be. I have a 10 foot strap that I tie onto the front end of my yak and then clip the other end to a belt I wear around my waist. This allows me to wade fish while keeping the yak close by, plus it's easier to plop my big butt out of the yak and wade through shallow areas that are just too shallow to paddle the yak through.

Some folks have told me that it is best to remain in the yak when floating, but I'm just going to flat-out disagree with that. I'm still trying to develop the F-n-W into a fast and simple technique but I still have some bugs to workout. I'm getting closer the more I practice.

The Kishwaukee River is too small of a river to just float.
There are too many characteristics (riffs, eddys, pools, downed trees) in the river to just float by.
It is also a beautiful river.
It is best to stop and smell the roses.

Keep an eye on my fishing reports posted in the top menu bar of this blog
as I develop the Float-n-Wade technique.
